Okay, I always thought that spinosaurus had a head 8 feet long, but I guess you don't agree.
Hi

GigadinoAugust 31, 2013
8 feet long? Nope, it's more like to 1,58 m according to new estimate by Hartman.

DeltadromeusAugust 31, 2013
That's only five feet! A five foot long thin skull on a sixty foot body.
Hi

GigadinoAugust 31, 2013
Spinosaurus at 18 m is likely exagerrated. It need a very long tail. More like to 16 m.

DeltadromeusAugust 31, 2013
But still, it would be short. T. rex had a 5 foot skull, and it was 40 feet long. Giganotosaurus had a 6 foot skull, and 46 feet long, so wouldn't Spino at least have a skull of 7 feet long? It follows the pattern, and Spino has an extra long skull anyways.
Hi

Gig's skull is 1,6 m actually.
Btw, Spinosaurids has a proportionally short skull, while Tyrannosaurids and Carcharodontosaurids were quite big-headed.

DinoFightsAugust 31, 2013
1.8 m skull for Spino is probable

Tyrannosaurs and carcharodontosaurs don't have really long skulls. Their's are more robust and more massive.
Here's a short list in my book...
Tyrannosaurus- 5-6 ft
Giganotosaurus-5-6.5 ft
Carcharodontosaurus-5-6 ft
Spinosaurus- 6-7 ft
Very rough list, but hopefully it get's the point across ;)

I thought that you said that iga had a skull slightly larger than Carcharadontosaurus. I just retread your comment, never mind
Hi

DinoFightsSeptember 01, 2013
Actually, carcharodontosaurs and tyrannosaurs do have large skulls in proportion to body and spinosaurs has short skulls, roughly 1/10 of their length, maybe a bit more. MSNM v4047 had a 6+ foot skull (only up to 6.5), Sue had a 5 foot skull, C. rex had a potentially 5.4 foot skull, Paratype Giga had a 6 foot two to four inch skull, Carcharodontosaurus SGM DIN-1 has a Giga sized skull scaling from Acrocanthosaurus but scaling from Giga his skull is smaller. 6 feet sounds good.
T. Rex's skull is 1/8 of its body length
Giga's is a little more than 1/7
Spino's is a little more than 1/10.
Giga has potentially the longest skull in relation to body.
Look at Spino and Giga here with their skulls.

Giga's skull is longer but its body is shorter than Spino's.
*Giga is 46 feet here, Spino is 54.
