After dropping out of the running to direct World War Z 2, Deadline is reporting that Juan Antonio Bayona is currently being eyed by Universal as a potential director for Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World sequel, Jurassic World 2.
"I’d heard his name way back in September, when it was denied, and then he attached to World World Z 2. After Deadline revealed last week that he exited that picture over timing, I am now once again hearing his name as potential director for the Dino sequel." - Deadline

Jurassic World Rebirth sequel
The sequel to Rebirth is in development with filming expected to commence by the Fall of 2026. With Gareth Edwards expected to return to helm the sequel and lead star Scarlett Johansson reprising her role as well, the next Jurassic entry will continue the story from where Rebirth left off.
